Christmas themed wedding

The smell of cinnamon, fairy lights glistening in street corners and the chill of icy air, Christmas is near and the charm of the festive holiday lingers delightfully. We don’t really associate Weddings with Christmas but you can only imagine how magical Christmas weddings are. Just think of a stunning winter wonderland setting! This is why more people should wedding in winter and escape from the typical Summer wedding.

The winter wedding themes are pure bliss, as the decorations can be absolutely spectacular.  What about a beautiful white ballroom ceremony with sparkling fairy lights which intertwine in the surrounding tree branches. Or you could have your venue in an old oak barn with candles and lights for that winter divinity! Tying the knot in winter, can also mean an all white wedding will look crisper and classier. It is such a simple and cost effective theme but it will look that extra bit more special in the Winter. You could even have your bridesmaids dressed in white, or even creams or ivory whilst they follow you down the aisle holding beautiful pale flowers in pine cone bouquets. At the reception you could decorate your table with gorgeous white vintage centerpieces and Christmas candles for that element of magic! Your venue might even decorate for the Christmas season by putting up fairy lights, tinsel or a Christmas tree. Meaning that you might not have to worry about getting all the accessories! Also why not make it snow at your wedding? Even if it isn’t snowing outside, you could make your wedding winter wonderland complete by making it snow inside! Why not let it snow whilst you walk down the aisle or your first dance?

The food at a Christmas themed wedding can also be absolutely scrumptious! You can go for a classic roast, with plenty of meats that’s you and your guests can dig into! Not forgetting a buffet overfilled with varieties of fresh vegetables and potatoes and all the other sides in between. As it is Christmas time, warming mulled wine and cider is an absolute necessity and you could have your waiters/waitresses bringing around glasses full for all your guests. Also, a perfect addition for the kids could be opting for a ‘make your own hot chocolate’ bar and include tasty treats such as candy canes, chocolate drops and marshmallows. Why not add some flavoured alcohol too so the adults can have a go? For pudding you could go for a combination of a Christmas and wedding cake to accentuate the Christmassy vibes with of course the option of brandy butter. Or instead beautifully iced white wintery cupcakes with gorgeous silver edible balls on. Or why not add edible glitter to your cupcakes for an enticing look? You could also add ginger bread men and a gingerbread house for the kids to get stuck into.

The perfect winter wonderland won’t’ be complete without the perfect winter wedding dress. You could either warm to a luxurious crisp mermaid dress that is topped with a lavishing fur coat and a long white veil. Or why not have a sparkly bold dress that will wow your guests as you glisten merrily. Or you could become super glamorous with a radiant ball gown that is topped with luscious lace. Alternatively, you could glide away from the classic white dress and pick a coloured one instead. Adding a tint of blue to your dress will make it so winterly wonderful and will emphasise the Christmas vibes. Or what about a glistening gold wedding dress to give your guests a royal chill as you walk down the aisle.

The themes of a winter wedding are absolutely breathtaking, with their magic and charm. Though, there are more reasons why one should wedding in winter. Firstly as summer brides will be worrying how to not overheat in their ballgowns, you can wrap yourself cosy in an elegant cape. The weather also means you don’t have to fret about your makeup sweating off, whilst your summer bride counterparts will be panicking about how they will look at the end of the night. Also as winter is not the prime time to have a wedding, it is likely that your venue will be a lot cheaper and more available! So with the sensational themes, ravishing dresses and exquisite food all for a cheaper price, why not wedding in winter?
